While the character development leaves the reader questioning is Ms. Meyer can rally create a realistic story, it gives the opportunity for her to expand later the series. The fight scene was quick and it shows that she is uncomfortable to writing such as she makes Bella unconscious during the entire fight--basically you don't even know what is happening until she wakes. Some might say that Bella and Edward are Mary Sues and Gary Sues--meaning they have no flaws. I have to agree. Making Bella clumsy and Edward emo (sorry for the slang, but it's the most exact term I can use)does not suffice for their "flaw." Together, however, they can do no wrong. The basic development to falling in love was...just not there. One second they try to stay away from each, the next they are madly in love. Again, nothing realistic. Despite these issues, Twilight has to be every teenage girls dream. It was a captivating read that will leave the readers wanting more, and grabbing the next book off of the shelves.
